River City Squash Inc is accepting teams from Northside Centres for our second season of competition in the River City Squash Inc Competition. We have received entries from our existing eight centres again for the forth coming season. We have achieved a lot in a short space of time in our inaugural season. First and foremost being taken to the Supreme Court by Q Squash of which was judged and found in the favour totally of River City Squash Inc and costs were awarded against Q squash.
River City Squash Inc commenced nearly all competitions with a minimum 6 team formats and also 8 team formats of which in most cases we have had very competitive matches and good competition. In nearly all 6 team formats there are 6 teams competing and around half of the 8 team formats have 8 teams competing. We envisage this will be the case again as we can offer this across the board in all grades from Premier through to C grade. Our competition will get stronger and more successful during this coming season. We have competition rules and guidelines that are adhered to during the season. The allocation of matches for adjustment rounds and finals series are spread on a team basis to not favour any individual Club or Centre. River City Squash Inc has in this season for the adjustment rounds and finals matches of all Grades ( eg Premier & A Grade at Stafford, C grade at Scarborough, etc ) being at the one Centre to create much greater atmosphere for both Players and Spectators.
Squash Australia is developing a national integrated player registration, rating and ranking system for commencement in January 2010. River City Squash Inc looks forward to Brisbane's squash players having access to this 'next generation' of the Squash Matrix.
River City Squash Inc has already commenced a trial basis for Schools and will be offering this for implementation to all of the River City Squash Inc centre members. River City Squash Inc is further developing a Juniors pathway with other partners to bring to the game new players. Various levels of government have indicated with the current ageing population in Australia and from our own research and development which River City Squash Inc of which we have undertaken during the past season. River City Squash Inc is formulating an action plan with the help of our partners to rebuild the participation levels within squash.
River City Squash is currently conducting fund raising to help alleviate the costs that parents and guardians incur when having Juniors compete in sports events in Australia. River City Squash inc will raise a considerable amount towards these costs for The River City Squash Inc players from the Brisbane and other regions where players have been denied access to junior and senior events. A group of River City Squash Inc juniors together with 2 players from Wide Bay Region will be competing under the River City Squash inc banner, in the individual event at the Australian Junior Championships in Sydney from the 25th – 30th September. These juniors were all banned by Q squash from competing in their own Queensland Championships. A Number of these juniors are Australian ranked. River City Squash Inc actively seeks participation, not the banning, of the players of the current and future to compete on whichever level they feel entitled.
Once again we would welcome teams from your centre if your players require a competitive and larger player pool and enhanced competition. Our entries close on Monday the 31st of August 2009. River City Squash Inc has some great incentives regarding player participation from some of our new sponsors for the New Summer Season Competition which will be announced in the next few weeks.
